Diapers

Here you can make a note of when and what kind of diaper your angel has created. I used the obvious #1 & #2 to distinguish between the different types. You may just want to use a check mark or “dc” for a diaper change if you don’t want to track the exact detail of your darling’s creation.  You may also receive a sheet for tracking this stuff from the hospital; this gives you the option to have all the information in one spot.

Notes/Milestones/Thoughts

The Notes page faces each information-tracking page. In this section you can jot down what you are feeling, what your wonderful baby is doing that is new, or whatever seems noteworthy. You can also write down questions for your pediatrician or observations such as “Little Timmy took 20 minutes to fall asleep“ or some of your baby’s firsts (to be put in the official baby book later of course ) or use this space to add up sleeps & eats. Whatever you like, there’s no pressure. I shoved a few loose pages with notes on them into my children’s baby books. I thought this would be much nicer.

That generally covers this book I created. I would add: try to relax and listen to your gut; you have good instincts, really. If something is nagging at you, turn to your team to help figure it out. I had a non-sleeper, others had the non-eater and on and on; it helped me to find others who had dealt with the same issue and get input. Do what feels right and works for your family. Parenting is hard and easy and tiring and exhilarating and perplexing and clear and I sincerely hope you enjoy the ride.
